1998 Gozzard 44 Center Cockpit

The Gozzard 44 Center Cockpit is a fiberglass cruising yacht built in 1998 with a center cockpit layout and cutter rig. This particular boat departs from the standard Gozzard design with numerous custom specifications, resulting in a hull finished in Corintha Blue with Oyster White topsides and striping. The deck and trim work in teak, along with bronze accents including dolphins on the cap rail, define her aesthetic. She features in-mast roller furling on the mainsail, with separate roller furling systems for the jib and staysail. All primary control lines lead to the cockpit, where a comprehensive instrument pod houses navigation and sailing systems.

Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and one head. The forward cabin converts into a guest space with a queen berth, while the aft master cabin features a centerline California King berth with three-sided access. The galley sits mid-ship on the starboard side and includes a gimbaled combination microwave and convection oven, a three-burner propane stove with oven, and separate refrigerator and freezer units. The main salon features multiple seating configurations, a dining area that seats eight, and extensive storage throughout. The head includes a separate shower with bench seating.

Propulsion comes from an 82-horsepower Westerbeke diesel with approximately 3,800 hours of service. A six-kilowatt Northern Lights generator provides electrical power, backed by eight six-volt and three twelve-volt AGM battery banks. A seven-horsepower Sidepower bow thruster with upgraded propeller and zinc configuration aids maneuvering. Recent work includes new engine sound proofing, exhaust components, propeller shaft with 322 stainless steel, and cutlass bearing, all completed in 2025. The electrical system includes a new Magnum charger and inverter, 16-kilowatt reverse-cycle air conditioning in the main cabin and nine-kilowatt in the aft cabin, and comprehensive 120-volt and 12-volt distribution.

Deck and rigging include a Maxwell windlass with foot pedal control, dual anchor rollers, 175 feet of 5/8-inch anchor chain, and Quantum sails with tan sacrificial strips. Standing rigging was replaced in 2026, and the hull was repainted in May 2026 with new bottom paint applied June 2026. The aft deck features dinghy davits, a fold-down transom with swim ladder, and a rail-mounted workstation and grill. Fresh water capacity totals 250 gallons across two tanks, diesel fuel is stored in 125-gallon capacity, and a holding tank provides 40 gallons.
