2017 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 44 DS

This 2017 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 44 DS is a Philippe Briand-designed cruising sailboat built for both comfort and capable sailing. The boat features a clean deck layout with all control lines led aft to the helm, supported by four electric winches positioned at the companionway and helm stations. The large, well-protected cockpit flows seamlessly into the interior below.

The accommodations consist of two cabins and two heads. The aft master cabin spans the full beam with a king-size berth, direct galley access, and mirrored storage with settees on both sides. The forward cabin includes a desk and private head. Throughout the interior, headroom and storage are generous. The companionway door retracts into the structure rather than requiring separate stowage. Climate control includes air conditioning with reverse cycle heating, cabin fans, and a large battery bank with a 2000-watt inverter and generator for extended cruising. An additional water tank supports extended time away.

The sails are well maintained: the Quantum main was replaced new in 2024 with minimal use, the UK genoa is approximately three years old and lightly used, and both feature roller furling. A Doyle Cruising Code Zero with furler is also aboard. The yacht is equipped with a Yanmar 57 hp diesel engine paired with a three-blade folding prop. Power systems include solar panels and controller installed in 2023, with the refrigeration cooling unit replaced in 2024.

Navigation and entertainment systems include Raymarine GPS, AIS, VHF, autopilot with remote, Quantum radar, wind and depth instruments, and a Fusion stereo with Bose speakers in both cockpit and cabin. Additional equipment includes a bow thruster, deck wash pump, galley water filter, outboard lift, and a Forespar motor-mate dinghy lift. The dodger, bimini, and connector were replaced in 2022 by Seafarer Canvas. A Selden electric winch for the main was installed in 2021.
