The Island Packet 45 is a proven bluewater cruising yacht, launched in 1998 and built with the design and construction methods that have made the class respected worldwide. Her full-foil keel and solid laminate fiberglass hull deliver outstanding directional stability and heavy-weather capability. The moderate rig and cutter-style sail plan are manageable by a small crew, making her equally suited to ocean passages or extended coastal cruising. At 45 feet with a beam of 13.3 feet, she displaces 28,400 pounds and draws 1.46 meters.
Below decks, the interior is warm and traditionally finished with abundant natural light and generous headroom throughout at 1.96 meters. The layout includes a spacious saloon with comfortable seating, a U-shaped galley designed for safe use underway, an owners stateroom, guest cabin, and additional sleeping berths. The yacht accommodates seven berths total, with two electric heads upgraded in 2019, a 170-liter holding tank, two hot and cold showers including one on the swim platform, and a 40-liter water heater. The galley features a Force 10 stove fitted in 2019, two stainless steel sinks, and both refrigeration and freezer capacity.
Power and systems include a 62-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with 4,800 hours, a 500-liter aluminum fuel tank, and a feathering propeller. The electrical setup comprises a 400-amp-hour lithium battery bank, a 3,000-watt Victron inverter, dual MPPT controllers, a Balmar 120-amp alternator, solar panels, and a wind and water hydro generator. A 2023 high-capacity watermaker produces 240 liters per hour. Heating is provided by a Webasto diesel system throughout.
On deck, wide side decks, a deep cockpit, and substantial hardware support safety and movement. The rigging was replaced in 2018. The sail plan includes a fully battened main from 2020 with spare, genoa and staysail from 2021 with spares, and a trysail and gennaker. A 2019 Ocean Cruising Tenders 310 dinghy with 10-hp Tohatsu outboard is included. Navigation and communication systems include Icom HF and VHF radios, B&G autopilot and radar, and modern electronics. Safety equipment includes a 2022 Viking 4 Pro liferaft, EPIRB, and full redundant systems including dual bilge pumps.
