The 2013 Ranger Tugs R-31 is a 31-foot fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising while remaining trailerable. Powered by a single Volvo Penta D4 diesel engine producing 300 horsepower, the boat achieves a cruising speed above 15 knots. The R-31 was the first Ranger Tug to feature a retractable flybridge equipped with electronic controls at both upper and lower helms, allowing the boat to be towed without modification. The extended deck layout includes a foredeck with adjustable seating and table, wraparound cockpit seating with folding gunwale extensions, and a flybridge with full station redundancy.
Below deck, the R-31 accommodates six with two staterooms and two heads. The forward cabin features a large island berth with en suite head and shower. A midship stateroom contains a double berth and day head. The galley and lower helm station are positioned to maximize usable interior space, with a starboard-side door at the helm providing direct access to the side decks and bow for line handling.
Standard equipment includes bow and stern thrusters for precise maneuvering. An optional aft steering station is available. The boat comes furnished with dinette seating and is configured for owner comfort and ease of handling both under way and at anchor.
