2014 Aquila 48

The 2014 Aquila 48 is a 48-foot fiberglass catamaran powered by twin upgraded Volvo Penta D6 diesel engines producing 330 horsepower each. Built with end-grain balsa core-infused sandwich construction and vinylester resin below the waterline, the hull combines durability with light weight. The boat reaches a top speed of 20 knots and cruises comfortably at 15 knots. Its design prioritizes maneuverability—the wide-spaced motors allow the boat to turn within its own beam and crab sideways without requiring bow thrusters. The catamaran hull provides exceptional stability and storage throughout.

Accommodations consist of four separate cabins, each with its own en-suite head and independent dry shower. Every cabin features a double island berth convertible to singles, panoramic windows with water-level views, teak floors, and abundant storage including closets, under-bed lockers, and underfloor compartments. The main deck offers generous salon and dining space with panoramic windows and protected forward and aft cockpit areas. A hardtop-covered flybridge approximately 11 by 17 feet serves as an additional entertaining and dining space, accessible via interior stairs and deck ladders.

Recent maintenance and upgrades reflect meticulous care. The generator underwent professional service, stress testing, and oil analysis in January 2026. Both Volvo engines received scheduled professional service in fall 2025 with the bottom professionally cleaned and zincs checked. Hull re-caulking was completed in 2024. The boat has been compounded and waxed. Twin Vitrifrigo refrigerators, a glass cooktop, electric grill, and modern galley appliances support the generous accommodations. A 48,000 BTU multi-zone air conditioning system with five separate thermostats provides comfort in varied climates. Power systems include a 3000-watt Victron inverter, over 1,800 watts of solar on the hardtop, and an 800-amp-hour lithium battery bank supplemented by AGM house and starter batteries. Navigation features dual VHF radios, Raymarine MFD chartplotter with autopilot, and backup instrumentation. A hydraulic swim platform with electric davit, life raft, and comprehensive safety equipment are onboard, along with a Spectra Newport water-maker and pressurized washdown system. A 2019 SeaDoo 3-up tender with custom sling is included.
