2014 Aquila 48

The Aquila 48 is a fiberglass catamaran built to live aboard and explore extended distances under power. Twin Volvo D6 diesel engines produce 660 horsepower combined, delivering a cruising speed of 17 knots and a maximum speed of 21 knots. The hull design and beam of 23.5 feet create a stable, spacious platform with a fuel-efficient power envelope: the boat achieves roughly 3.6 nautical miles per gallon at 1,000 RPM for economical cruising.

The interior spans four staterooms and four heads, each head fitted with an enclosed stand-up shower. A full solar electrical system supports extended time at anchor, backed by a Northern Lights 16-kilowatt generator for air conditioning, refrigeration, and a Spectra 1000-gallon-per-day water maker. Raymarine navigation electronics and autopilot are installed. The galley includes a refrigerator and freezer.

The boat's layout emphasizes living space with indoor and outdoor dining and entertainment areas. An elevator swim deck spans the transom, facilitating water access. Deck shower plumbing is included. The catamaran came out of charter service in the British Virgin Islands in 2020 and has been privately owned since.
