The 2016 Wharram Tiki 46 is a 46-foot fiberglass and wooden catamaran built by Seascape Asia in Phuket using marine ply, red cedar, epoxy, and glass. Her design, based on James Wharram's proven Pacific cruising concept, balances simplicity with capability. The boat features a single 20 hp Suzuki outboard engine mounted in the port hull and capable of 10.5 knots. She carries 100 liters of fuel, with a 2.5 hp Suzuki on the included 2.6-meter dinghy. The 24.5-foot beam creates abundant deck space and headroom exceeding 200 centimeters between the hulls.
Accommodation centers on three cabins plus convertible galley seating. The port hull holds two spacious cabins with 155 by 210 centimeter double beds, individual fans, reading lights, deep storage, and opening hatches for ventilation and light. Each port cabin includes a dedicated toilet with handwash basin. The starboard hull features a large shower stall with rain, massage, and handheld options, plus an electric toilet and handwash basin. A manual galley settee converts easily into a third bunk using infill cushions. All cabins have mosquito netting. Black water capacity totals 240 liters across three dedicated tanks with on-deck discharge points.
The galley is equipped with a 110-liter 12-volt refrigerator, three-burner electric stove with gas backup, double sink, water filtration system installed in October 2023, and extensive locker storage. Fresh water capacity includes a 300-liter tank in the port hull and 600 liters in the starboard hull. A Rainman 140-liter water maker and 2.2 kilowatt Honda generator support extended cruising independence. The electrical system comprises a 400 amp-hour house bank and 260 amp-hours of solar generation installed in March 2022, along with starting batteries and a Phoenix sine-wave inverter. Electronics include Raymarine plotter with integrated depth and fish finder, AIS Class B transceiver, Simrad VHF, wind indicator, and autopilot.
The rig is schooner-rigged with 96 square meters of Dacron sails serviced by Rolly Tasker in January 2024. Both mainsail and schooner sail carry gaffs with equal area. Running rigging is in working order with dedicated two-speed winches. Ground tackle comprises a 12-volt electric windlass, 25-kilogram Rocna anchor on 65 meters of marked 10-millimeter chain, plus a 20-kilogram Brittany kedge. During previous ownership, the port engine was overhauled in February 2024, sails were serviced, refrigeration was upgraded, the water filtration system was added, and portions of the bridge were rebuilt in Phuket in January 2024. The starboard engine requires replacement. The boat includes safety gear, comprehensive tools, spare parts
