2020 Lagoon 42

The Lagoon 42 is a fiberglass catamaran built in 2020, powered by twin Yammer diesel engines of 90 hp each. The hull and deck are constructed using polyester resin infusion with balsa core and white gel coat. This design is known for its stability and comfort, with a beam of over 25 feet providing generous space across the dual hulls. Twin engines deliver a cruising speed of 7 knots and a maximum speed of 10 knots.

The yacht accommodates four cabins and four heads across a well-considered layout. The saloon features an L-shaped bench seating area, a wooden table that converts to a berth, and opening portholes for ventilation. The galley is U-shaped with a three-burner stove, gas oven, 130-liter fridge, and 100-liter freezer. Two aft cabins and two forward cabins all have double beds with high-density foam mattresses, under-bed storage, and opening deck hatches and portholes for light and airflow. Both forward and aft heads include separate showers and electric flushing toilets with hot and cold water.

The deck plan emphasizes cruising practicality. A protected cockpit with hard-top bimini provides shelter, with an L-shaped bench, fridge, and removable table. The foredeck features a trampoline, large locker hatches, and an anchor roller with a 1000W electrical windlass. The rig carries a custom heavy-duty battened mainsail, heavy-duty furling genoa with UV protection, and a self-tacking jib furler. A LazyJack stackpack system aids sail handling.

The systems are comprehensive for extended cruising: twin 140Ah service batteries plus additional 140Ah batteries with dual 40-amp chargers, solar panels, and a generator. A watermaker and dual fresh water tanks of 300 liters each support long passages. Air conditioning with 48,000 BTU total capacity, hot water heating, and a Fusion stereo system with Bluetooth provide comfort. Navigation and instrumentation include a full B&G package with instrumentation at the helm station. Fire extinguishers, life jackets, safety harnesses, anchors, fenders, mooring lines, and flare kits are on board, along with cruising gear including linens, cookware, and serving dishes.
