2025 Garcia Exploration 45

The Garcia Exploration 45 is a purpose-built aluminum sailing yacht designed for long-distance cruising in all climates. Developed from Jimmy Cornell's extensive ocean-crossing experience and refined by the design firm Berret-Racoupeau, this boat combines seaworthiness with practical handling. Twin rudders provide responsive control in varied conditions, while a full-width dog house groups all deck controls within the cockpit for safe sail handling. Deck layout emphasizes safety and accessibility with numerous handholds, mast-step platforms, and protected walkways. A dedicated forward sail locker with watertight bulkhead stores a complete wardrobe efficiently.

The two-cabin layout centers on a warm, naturally lit saloon with panoramic windows that allow sightline control of the boat from an interior watch station. The owner's cabin forward includes an en-suite bathroom with separate shower and electric toilet. A second cabin and additional head with separate WC provide comfortable accommodation for a full crew.

The sail plan includes a fully battened mainsail and Incidence solent, with a parasailor completing the inventory. A roller-furling jib, hardware for downwind sails, lazy bag, and lazy jacks are installed. An electric ST 45 winch augments manual winches for easier sail handling. Navigation systems include a B&G suite with dual 12-inch screens, AIS transponder, and HALO 24 radar. Power comes from an 80 hp Nanni diesel engine. Electrical systems feature 24V architecture with a 9 kW lithium battery bank for extended independence. This boat was water-tested in August 2025 and represents the 51st Exploration 45 built by Garcia Yachts.
