The Ranger Tugs R-25 is a 28-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a single 250-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine. Its defining feature is the Clear-Path swim platform, which extends around the engine to create an unobstructed walkway—eliminating obstacles near the transom and opening the boat to fishing, water sports, dinghy access, and easy boarding at low docks. The design is trailerable with its 8.5-foot beam and folding mast, making it accessible for cruising without the constraints of a fixed-slip marina requirement.

The interior layout balances sleeping capacity with usable living space across three distinct areas. The main salon features a dinette that seats four and converts into a berth, while the forward stateroom offers a larger private berth with opening hatches for ventilation, reading lights, and a TV. A quarter berth with removable mattress provides flexible sleeping or storage options. The galley is fully equipped with an electric and alcohol cooktop, refrigerator-freezer, microwave, and sink with hot and cold water. An enclosed head includes an electric marine toilet, holding tank, pump-out system, and shower.

The helm is outfitted with a 12-inch Garmin navigation system, colour engine display, digital fuel flow data, and electronic single-lever shift and throttle control. Climate control, indirect cabin lighting throughout, and dual windshield wipers support year-round operation. Outside, the cockpit accommodates five or more with a soft-top cover, and the self-bailing design incorporates downrigger pads and rod holders for fishing. The deck carries a complete anchor package, windlass, washdown system, stainless steel ladder, and integrated fenders at the swim step.

Power management includes lithium house batteries, an inverter, battery charger, and a 220-watt solar panel. A SmartPlug inlet with 30-amp shore power cord simplifies dockside charging. The hull is constructed from foam-filled fiberglass with a vinylester barrier coat and stainless steel fasteners throughout, delivering solid durability for extended coastal cruising.
