The Seawind 1160XL is a 38-foot fiberglass catamaran built for extended cruising and ocean passages. With over 200 boats of this design already in service, the model has proven itself across long-distance voyages and circumnavigations. The XL version expands on that foundation with increased interior volume, improved natural lighting, and refined styling paired with straightforward, durable systems suited to serious offshore work.
The three-cabin, two-head layout creates flexible accommodation within a seamless saloon that opens to the cockpit. Twin helm stations enable full control from either side of the boat. The rig features a fully battened mainsail and self-tacking headsail for accessible sail handling. Power comes from twin Yamaha 50-horsepower high-thrust outboards, delivering a cruising speed of 7 knots and maximum speed of 10 knots. The boat holds 700 liters of freshwater and carries a solar panel system for energy independence.
Built to CE Category A certification for ocean capability, the 1160XL spans 38 feet 10 inches in length with a beam of 21 feet 8 inches and a draft of 4 feet 3 inches. The displacement is 7,800 kilograms. This catamaran combines proven offshore design with modern comfort and reliability.
