2027 Custom BYD 34

The Custom BYD 34 is a 34-foot fiberglass catamaran built for high-speed offshore service. With twin Yamaha engines producing 500 horsepower, the boat cruises at 30 knots while carrying a full load of 34 passengers. The hull design features high bows and planing hulls built from fiberglass laminate over foam core with fire-retardant vinyl-ester resin and composite bulkheads. The deck employs a resin-infused proprietary beam design with integrated camber to shed spray and rain. The boat is designed for diving, snorkeling, fishing, whale watching, water taxi service, and tours.

Accommodation includes a single deck-level head with a manual toilet and 30-gallon holding tank. The boat is equipped for passenger accessibility, featuring wheelchair-accessible gates at port and starboard, a folding forward seat, dock-height bow loading, and a hardtop canopy with integrated life vest storage. The hardtop also has anchor points for paddleboards and life floats. Custom details include an HDPE rubrail, aluminum bow pushbars and corner bumpers, and anodized aluminum railing with Sunbrella inserts. A custom aluminum helm with a leaning post and 15-inch stainless steel wheel serves as the control station.

The boat is equipped with a Seastar Pro hydraulic steering system with kevlar-reinforced hose and dual cylinders. Standard electronics include a Garmin Echomap UHD2 GPS with GT54-TM transducer, Standard Horizon VHF radio with low-profile antenna, Ready2Talk PA system, and a USCG-approved illuminated compass. The boat carries 44 USCG-approved Type I life vests and features dome and courtesy lighting throughout.

The hull is finished with gelcoat topsides and antifouling bottom paint over epoxy barrier coat. Built to American Bureau of Shipping High-Speed Crafts 2016 standards, the boat is certifiable to USCG 46 CFR Subchapter T for small passenger vessels and can operate in exposed, partially protected, or protected waters.
